IT IS AN INVITATION TO COMFORT THOSE WHO MOURN WITH WORDS OF LOVE, GRATITUDE, FORGIVENESS AND HOPE.
MOURNING STORY IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT HELPS PEOPLE PREPARE A VIDEO MESSAGE TO BE SHOWN AT THEIR OWN FUNERAL.
WHY MOURNING STORY?
CONCISE – Less is often more and keeping each Morning Story at a length of five to ten minutes forces us all to emphasize what matters most. Short but profound messages are the ones we remember.
CONSIDERATE – Grieving people must be shown great consideration. That is why this ministry is needed. It takes great thoughtfulness to speak with truth and with love into a crowd of mourners about the “morning of eternity.”
PERSONAL- We are all different in many ways. The videos will all start and end in similar ways, but in between your video is in your own words, spoken for the ones attending your service, reflecting your own story with the hope of eternity with Jesus.
GOSPEL-CENTERED – This is not a movement to make merely comforting videos—though they certainly will comfort. This video will tactfully present the gospel with clarity and candor as well as tell people you love that you will miss them.
WHO WE SERVE
LOCAL INDIVIDUALS - Mourning Story partners with long-term care and local pastors to identify those in the local area that want to tell their story. We provide counseling, video recording, video editing and logistics support for our clients' funeral messages.
SERMON SERIES - Mourning Story has a vision for an interactive sermon series to challenge church bodies to focus on eternal life and their ability to share and influence others. At the conclusion of the series, church goers will be asked to write and record their own Mourning Stories.
CHURCH SMALL GROUPS - Mourning Story empowers pastors and church leaders to change lives by facilitating the making and viewing of Mourning Stories for those in their church family.
MILITARY MEMBERS - Facing deployment, overseas tours, or individual missions creates fear and uncertainty in the lives of service members. For this reason it is our long-term goal to provide a Mourning Story at no cost to military members deploying or going on a temporary duty assignment.
